Running and becoming fit has changed my life in so many ways.
After the birth of my youngest son in 2022, I was out of shape and getting bigger.
Although my heart was so full of love, my waist line was getting bigger.
I was granted 1 hour a day for myself.. this transformed me entirely.
I had an hour to walk/run/exercise and focus on me.
At first it felt selfish, then I saw it as a gift..
I signed up to a 7km charity event, the. 6 months lasted a half marathon.
I became inspired by others and read about other peoples journeys- and signed up to a 70.3 Ironman, and recently completed a 100miler event.
Running has given me control over my body, has made the stresses of daily life fade away, and is great for my mental health.
I can show my kids about the benefits of excercise and they can share all the wonderful highs which come with running and entering events.
It has made me a better mother, and makes me cherish the body I was given- even with the niggles and injuries I have had- running helps me count my many blessings.
One foot in front of the other- a short run or a long one, is a gift .. I am very blessed to be a runner.
